That is why we have decided to break down the central document that tends to regulate and organise this type of service: the modest service level agreement (SLA). Since the late 1980s, SLAs have been used by fixed-line operators. Today, ALS is so widespread that large organizations have many different ALSs within the company itself. Two different units in an organization script an ALS, one unit being the customer and another the service provider. This helps maintain the same quality of service between different units of the organization and in several sites within the organization. This internal ALS script also compares the quality of service between an internal service and an external service provider. How Peter Bendor-Samuel in the article Why service level level agreements are dead, based on Nipa Chakravarti`s comments, for CIO, service level agreements are all they have managed to be. Termination procedure – The ALS should define the circumstances under which the contract may be terminated or expire. The notice period should also be set by both parties.
In a way, alS expects both parties and serves as a roadmap for changes in cloud service, both expected changes and surprises. Just as any IT project would have a roadmap with clearly defined delivery elements, alS is just as important to working with cloud infrastructure. This raises the question during the trip: what should be in ALS? Service Description – ALS needs detailed descriptions of each service offered in all circumstances, including processing times. Service definitions should include how services are delivered, the provision of maintenance services, operating hours, dependencies, process structure and a list of all technologies and applications used. Cloud computing is a fundamental advantage: shared resources, supported by the underlying nature of a common infrastructure environment. SLAs therefore extend to the cloud and are offered by service providers as a service-based contract and not as a customer-based agreement. Measuring, monitoring and covering cloud performance is based on the final UX or its ability to consume resources. The disadvantage of cloud computing compared to ALS is the difficulty of determining the cause of service outages due to the complex nature of the environment. The option would simply be to ensure that you have sufficient performance standards throughout the organization, especially in the specific teams that act as service providers in your business.
